The Davey DCS Series is a heavy-duty submersible dewatering pump built for dirty water removal โ sump emptying, basement drainage, septic effluent disposal, flood water removal, and waste water containing small soft solids. The 304 stainless steel outer casing and strainer handle tough, ongoing applications where corrosion resistance matters.
A double mechanical shaft seal in an oil bath with hard-faced silicon carbide/ceramic seal on the pump side provides added motor protection and long service life. A sand slinger lip seal adds a further layer of protection. The double case design channels discharge flow past the internal motor shell โ better motor cooling and the ability to operate in partially submerged installations.
An open impeller, semi-vortex centrifugal design passes small soft solids in suspension and is less susceptible to blockage than a closed impeller design.
Available in seven models from 0.4 kW to 1.5 kW. Automatic (A suffix) models include a float switch for unattended operation. Manual (M suffix) models operate on demand. Select your model from the dropdown.
Note: DCS75A, DCS75M, and DCS150 carry a 1-year guarantee. All other models carry a 2-year guarantee.
Important: do not use this pump for recirculating or filtering swimming pools or spas where people are in the water while the pump is operating. Do not lower or retrieve the pump using the power lead โ use a rope.

FAQ
What's the difference between the A and M suffix models?
A suffix models include a preset float switch โ the pump starts automatically when water rises to the trigger level and stops when it drops to the safe operating level. M suffix models have no float switch and must be started and stopped manually, or controlled via an external level switch. DCS150 is manual only.
What does semi-vortex open impeller mean?
The open impeller design allows small soft solids in suspension to pass through without blocking the pump. A semi-vortex flow pattern further reduces the risk of clogging. It's why this pump handles grey water, effluent, and waste water with soft solids โ not just clean water.
What fluids can it handle?
Sewage or grey water of neutral pH containing up to 10% small soft organic solids under 10mm OD. Some wear should be expected when pumping hard solids in suspension. Do not pump abrasive materials like sand and grit โ these accelerate wear significantly.
Can I use it in a swimming pool?
Not for recirculating or filtering pools or spas where people are in the water while the pump is operating. It is not approved for that use. It can be used to empty a pool when no one is in it.
How do I retrieve it?
Always use a rope. Never lower or retrieve the pump using the power lead โ this can damage the cable entry seals, causing water ingress and unsafe operation.
Why does the warranty differ between models?
DCS40 and DCS55 models carry a 2-year guarantee. DCS75 and DCS150 models carry a 1-year guarantee. This is as stated by Davey on the product datasheet.
What is the hose tail for?
The hose tail adapts the 2" outlet for use with lay-flat hose โ useful for temporary dewatering or flood removal where you need to run a hose across a floor or out of a window. A hose clamp is not included.
What warranty applies?
2-year guarantee on DCS40 and DCS55 models. 1-year guarantee on DCS75 and DCS150 models. Backed by Davey's NZ dealer network.
