Many of our products include Free NZ Shipping. You'll see this clearly marked on the product page — if a product is tagged "Free NZ Shipping," there is no shipping charge for delivery anywhere within New Zealand, including Rural Addresses.

Products that are not marked "Free NZ Shipping" will have shipping calculated at checkout based on the size, weight, and destination of your order.

IN STORE PICK UP / CLICK & COLLECT

Only a select number of products are available for Pickup after Purchase. These are clearly marked on the Product page.

  • You will be notified when your order is ready for collection.
  • Collection can be made during opening hours at
     348 Rosebank Rd, Avondale, Auckland

WHERE IS MY ORDER:

  • Once your order has been shipped you will receive a Shipment Order Email. This will have a link to your tracking details, you can use this link to find the location of your parcel and contact the courier company to see how far away it is.
  • If you have not received a confirmation email within 24hrs, please check your junk box in your email, as some times we need to get in touch with you and emails do happen to end up in there!

2. Orders Sent Directly from NZ Suppliers within NZ

  • Delivery Time: 4–11 working days (varies by supplier)
  • Tracking: Available on request after 4 working days

3. Bulk, Heavy, or Long Items (Over 25 kg or Over 1.8 m)

Items that are heavy (over 25 kg) or long (over 1.8 metres) require freight delivery and have different delivery conditions:

  • Delivery Time: 3–5 working days (may be longer depending on destination)
  • Main towns only: Heavy and long items can only be delivered to main-towns and Business addresses or Depot
  • No rural delivery (RD addresses): We cannot deliver heavy or long items to rural addresses without checking with the freight company first. Please contact us before ordering if you have an RD address so we can confirm delivery is possible and advise on any extra costs.
  • Depot collection: In most cases, you will need to collect your item from the nearest main-town freight depot. We will provide you with the depot details and tracking information.

Please email sales@actionoutdoors.kiwi for a shipping quote on bulk, heavy, or oversized items.

4. Island Deliveries

We deliver to New Zealand's offshore islands, including Waiheke Island, Great Barrier Island, Stewart Island, and the Chatham Islands.

Please be aware:

  • Extra charges may apply for island deliveries beyond standard courier fees. These will depend on the carrier and destination.
  • Depot collection: Some island deliveries may only go as far as the nearest wharf, airline terminal, or local depot. You may need to arrange collection or onward transport from there.
  • Delivery times will be longer than standard mainland delivery — please allow extra time.
  • If additional costs apply that are not shown at checkout, we will contact you with a quote before shipping. If the extra cost is not accepted, we will cancel and refund the order.

If you're unsure about delivery to your island address, please contact us before placing your order.

5. Dangerous Goods (DG)

Some products we sell are classified as Dangerous Goods under transport regulations. This includes items such as aerosols, solvents, lubricants, and other chemical products (for example, products from our CRC Wholesale range).

What this means for you:

  • Road transport only: Dangerous Goods cannot travel by air. They must be shipped by road, which means delivery times will be longer, especially for deliveries between the North and South Islands — please allow at least 3–5 extra business days.
  • Extra shipping charges: An additional Dangerous Goods surcharge may be added to your order to cover the special handling and transport requirements.
  • Some items are pickup only: Certain Dangerous Goods can only be collected from our store in Avondale, Auckland and cannot be shipped. These items will be clearly marked on the product page.
  • No international shipping: Dangerous Goods cannot be shipped outside New Zealand.

If you're unsure whether a product is classified as Dangerous Goods, please contact us before ordering.

6. Products Shipped from China

  • Delivery Time: 7–45 days

Delivery Timeframes & Conditions

Delivery timeframes are provided as best estimates and are not a guarantee.

  • We cannot accept claims for late delivery, regardless of the reason.
  • Late delivery does not constitute a breach of contract, and orders cannot be cancelled on this basis.
  • Delivery times may be affected by statutory holidays, during which couriers do not operate.

Authority to Leave (ATL)

All our parcels are sent as "Signature Required" — this means someone must be there to receive and sign for your delivery. This protects you because you can inspect the parcel before accepting it.

If you won't be home, you can set up an Authority to Leave (ATL) with the courier company. This tells the courier driver to sign for the parcel on your behalf and leave it at a safe place you choose (e.g. by your back door, under your deck).

What happens when you set up ATL

  • The courier driver signs for your parcel on your behalf and leaves it at the location you chose.
  • You give up your right to inspect the parcel on delivery and to sign for it yourself.
  • Once the parcel is left, responsibility transfers to you — the courier company and Action Outdoors are no longer liable.

What this means for claims

If you have ATL set up and your parcel is:

  • Stolen after being left at your chosen location
  • Damaged and you weren't there to note it on the driver's run sheet
  • Marked as delivered but you say you didn't receive it

You will not be able to make a claim — because by setting up ATL, you accepted the risk of the parcel being left unattended. This is the policy of all major NZ courier companies including NZ Post, Post Haste, NZ Couriers, and Aramex.

Our recommendation

If you're ordering high-value items, we recommend keeping "Signature Required" so you (or someone at your address) can receive the parcel in person, check it for any damage, and sign for it. This gives you the strongest protection if anything goes wrong during delivery.

If you still want to set up ATL, contact your courier company directly:

Quality Control & Inspection on Delivery

Every order is carefully checked before leaving our premises to ensure it's in pristine condition.

On delivery, please inspect your order before signing. If you notice any damage to the packaging, make sure to note this on the driver's run sheet or consignment note.

Damaged Goods

In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, we will lodge and manage a claim with the transport company on your behalf promptly and professionally.

All deliveries are covered under the Carriage of Goods Act 1979. For more information, feel free to contact our team.

7. International Shipping

We ship selected products to Australia and Pacific Island nations. International shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on weight, dimensions, and destination.

Key points for international orders:

  • Import duties & taxes are the buyer's responsibility. All orders ship DAP (Delivered at Place) — you pay any customs duties, taxes, and clearance fees on arrival.
  • NZ GST (15%) is automatically removed for international addresses at checkout.
  • Some products cannot be shipped internationally due to dangerous goods regulations or carrier restrictions (e.g., lithium batteries, aerosols, flammable liquids, strong magnets). Restricted items will be marked or removed from international checkout.
  • Delivery times: Australia 3–7 business days; Pacific Islands 5–14 business days (air) or 4–8 weeks (sea). Times are estimates and exclude customs processing.
  • Payment: Credit/debit card only for international orders. PayPal is not accepted for international shipments.
  • Returns: Return shipping is at the buyer's expense. See our full International Shipping Terms for details.
  • Customs refusal: If you refuse to pay duties and the parcel is returned, no refund will be issued for shipping costs. See our International Shipping page for full terms.
