Davey Microlene 10" Jumbo Twin Filter Housing

Whole house 2-stage filtration for your home — choose the configuration that suits your supply.

The Davey Microlene 10" Jumbo Twin is a 2-stage whole house filter system using twin 10" Jumbo housings mounted on a bracket. Available as housing only, or as a matched solution kit for rainwater or mains water with the correct cartridges pre-loaded.

The Jumbo housings use 4.5" diameter cartridges — larger than standard slim housings — which means higher dirt-holding capacity, better flow, and longer intervals between cartridge changes. The ports are 25mm (1") FBSP, sized to handle the flow rate of a standard family home.

Connection fittings are not included. The housings use 25mm (1") FBSP connections — standard NZ plumbing size. Your plumber can supply the appropriate fittings from any plumbing merchant.

Bore water quality varies significantly. We recommend testing your bore water before selecting a filtration system — get in touch and we'll help you choose the right configuration for your supply.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which configuration should I choose?

If you're on rainwater or tank water and want sediment and cyst protection — choose the KAS10J rainwater kit. If you're on town (mains) water and want to address sediment, chlorine taste, and odour — choose the KAS10JM mains kit. If you want to supply your own cartridges or have specific filtration requirements — choose the housing only (AS10J). Not sure? Get in touch and we'll help.

What's the difference between this and the individual KAS10J and KAS10JM listings?

The individual listings each cover one configuration in full detail. This listing is the combined option if you want to compare all three configurations in one place or if you're not sure which direction to go. All configurations are identical in hardware — only the included cartridges differ.

Do I need a plumber to install it?

For most customers, yes — a licensed plumber is the safest path and protects your warranty on the plumbing side. The system uses standard 25mm (1") FBSP connections and wall-mounts with the included fixings. If you're confident with household plumbing, the installation itself is straightforward. If you're not sure, get in touch and we'll help you decide.

What connection fittings will I need?

The housings have 25mm (1") FBSP connections. Fittings are not included — your plumber can supply these from any plumbing merchant.

How often do I replace the cartridges?

Every 6–12 months depending on your water quality and usage. For the rainwater kit, the pleated Stage 1 cartridge can be cleaned every 3–6 months to extend its life — replace when cleaning no longer restores adequate flow. Replace sooner if you notice a drop in flow or change in water quality.

Do I need bypass valves?

Bypass valves aren't included and we don't stock them, but we strongly recommend your plumber fit them on either side of the system. They let you isolate the unit for servicing without cutting off your water supply. Any licensed plumber or plumbing merchant can supply and fit them.

What if I need higher flow rates?

The KAS10JM mains kit has a recommended max flow of 15 LPM — limited by the carbon block cartridge. The KAS10J rainwater kit supports up to 35 LPM. If you need higher flow, consider the 20" Jumbo versions. Get in touch and we'll advise on the right setup.

Is it suitable for bore water?

Bore water quality varies significantly. We recommend testing before installing. Get in touch and we'll help you choose the right configuration for your supply.

What warranty comes with it?

1 year on the housings.
