Industrial Best Sellers: The Tow Lines, Winch Rope, Snig Chain and Safety Rope Kiwis Are Buying Now
Every time we run the numbers on our Industrial range, the same story comes through: Kiwis are pulling, towing and recovering things, and they want gear that won't let them down halfway through the job. So we went back through the last 90 days of real orders, set aside the picks from our two most recent Industrial round-ups, and pulled out five genuine best sellers. It's a recovery-and-rigging line-up this time, from a heavy-duty towing line right down to the little thimble that protects your rope eye.
1. TiTAN Endless Sling Towing Line 42T - 6m

Our headline pick. This is TiTAN's polyester endless sling towing line in the 42T, 6 metre size, with the sling running inside a protective cover sleeve. You can rotate the endless sling within that cover to spread the wear, which helps it last. TiTAN say these lines are lighter and more flexible than wire and rubber/nylon lines, with more stretch than wire, Kevlar and Dyneema, and each one carries a unique serial number. The product page lists the 42T 6m line at roughly 9kg, so it's manageable for one person to handle. One important note: it's a towing line only, not for lifting, shock loading or stretch recovery. It suits heavy towing operators and commercial fleets.
Price: $320 - TiTAN Endless Sling Towing Line 42T 6m. More in towing & recovery strops.
2. Winchline UHM12 8mm - by the metre

The runaway unit seller in Industrial, and it's sold by the metre so you only buy what your winch drum needs. It's Donaghys' 12-plait single braid in UHMwPE with an Armorcoat finish. Donaghys say it's 8 times lighter and 70 percent stronger than wire, low stretch, UV and chemical resistant, won't kink and is easy to splice, with virtually no recoil if it does fail. The coating also helps it grip the drum and resist snagging. The product page lists 4x4 winch ropes, vehicle rescue and recovery, strops, mining and logging among its uses, so it suits 4WD owners swapping out wire as well as farm and forestry crews.
Price: $7.65 per metre - Winchline UHM12 8mm x Metre. See all winch lines & soft shackles.
3. 8mm Snig Chain 2.5T x 5m with Grab Hook & Lug Link

A ready-to-go recovery chain from HESNZ. It's 8mm chain with a 2.5 tonne working load limit, 5 metres long, with a grab hook on one end and a lug link on the other, finished in AMG G70 gold for wear resistance in wet, muddy and abrasive conditions. The 5m length gives you reach for awkward recoveries and longer pulls. It suits off-roaders, farmers and contractors who want one chain in the ute that's sorted and ready, rather than making one up from parts.
Price: $132.34 - 8mm Snig Chain 2.5T 5m. More in G70 transport chain.
4. Yellow Green Safety Rope 8mm x 220m

A full 220m coil of 8mm 3-strand polypropylene in high-vis yellow and green, so it's easy to spot on site. The listed average breaking load is 1346kg, and polypropylene brings good abrasion resistance, easy handling and low water absorption. The product page suggests uses like marking off safety areas, forestry ropes, safety lines, anchor ropes and mooring lines. A full coil is good value for cordoning off work zones and keeping a general-purpose line on hand.
Price: $125 per 220m coil - Yellow Green Safety Rope 8mm x 220m. More in height safety & roofing equipment.
5. 10mm 316 Stainless Wire Rope Thimble

The small part that saves the big part. A thimble sits inside a rope or wire eye to stop it kinking and wearing where it bears on a shackle or hook. This one is 316 stainless, 10mm (M10), sold individually. It's a handy one for anyone making up their own lines, strops and moorings, and 316 stainless makes sense around salt water.
Price: $6.99 each - 10mm 316 Wire Rope Thimble. Browse more wire rope thimbles.
