Dynamica SK78 12-Strand Dyneema® Rope – Bridon Cookes NZ

The Dynamica SK78 12-Strand Fibre Rope is an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) line manufactured from genuine Avient Dyneema® SK78 fibres. Distributed in New Zealand by Bridon Cookes NZ, this rope delivers unmatched strength, minimal stretch, and superior creep resistance for demanding marine, rigging, and industrial applications.

Technical Specifications

  • Construction: 12-strand braided, rotation-free, torque-neutral
  • Material: 100% Dyneema® SK78 with protective polyurethane coating
  • Buoyancy: Specific gravity 0.96–0.98 (floats in water)
  • Melting Point: 144°C – 152°C
  • Max Working Temperature: 60°C – 65°C
  • Elongation: Low stretch (~0.60% at 10% breaking load)
  • Creep Resistance: Up to 4× longer creep lifespan vs standard SK75 or generic HMPE
  • UV & Chemical Resistance: High UV stability, 0% water absorption, excellent chemical resistance

Usage & Splicing

Standard knots will drastically reduce strength or slip under tension. Use eye splices or lock-stitch terminations for full load capacity. Avoid running bare SK78 over sharp or abrasive surfaces. Cookes provides certified testing and splicing services at their NZ branches.
