What Does This Filter Do?
These cartridges combine several filtration functions in one compact 10" Standard cartridge.
Fine Sediment Filtration
The 0.5 micron nominal / 1 micron absolute rating provides very fine filtration, making the cartridge well suited as a final polishing stage.
Chlorine, Taste & Odour Reduction
High-surface-area bonded powdered activated carbon adsorbs contaminants responsible for chlorine, unpleasant taste and odour.
Organic Chemical & THM Reduction
The activated carbon has strong adsorption capability and is effective at reducing low levels of organic chemicals and THMs.
Giardia & Cryptosporidium Cyst Removal
The BPAC range effectively removes Giardia and Cryptosporidium cysts from drinking water.
The supplied Davey Microlene technical data specifies compliance with AS/NZS 4348 with >99.9% cyst removal.
Why Choose This Cartridge?
- 0.5 micron nominal filtration for fine polishing
- 1 micron absolute rating
- >99.9% cyst removal
- Helps remove Giardia and Cryptosporidium cysts
- Reduces chlorine, taste and odour
- Reduces low levels of organic chemicals and THMs
- High-surface-area bonded powdered activated carbon
- Made from FDA-grade materials
- Suitable for drinking-water applications
- Suitable for cold or hot water service
- Choice of Standard BPAC10 or longer-life Silver SBPAC10
Standard vs Silver — Which Should I Choose?
Choose Standard BPAC10 if:
You want the core filtration performance at the best-value position:
- 0.5 micron nominal filtration
-
99.9% cyst removal
- Bonded activated carbon treatment
- 75,000 L treatment capacity
- 3.8 L/min optimal flow
- 6-month hygienic lifespan
Choose Silver SBPAC10 if:
You want the additional benefit of silver-impregnated media:
- Same 0.5 micron nominal filtration
- Same 3.8 L/min optimal flow
-
99.9% cyst removal
- Silver impregnation helps inhibit bacterial growth
- 75,700 L treatment capacity

Installation
These cartridges are designed for compatible 10" Standard water filter housings.
For best results, Davey recommends using a sediment-removal prefilter to help prevent premature clogging of the carbon's active sites.
When installing:
- Turn off the water supply.
- Release pressure from the filter housing.
- Remove the housing sump.
- Remove the existing cartridge.
- Clean the housing if required.
- Check that the O-ring is clean and correctly seated.
- Install the new BPAC10 or SBPAC10 cartridge.
- Reassemble the housing.
- Slowly restore the water supply.
- Check for leaks.
- Flush the new cartridge before drinking the water.
Flushing After Installation
Like other carbon-based cartridges, the filter should be run for at least 5 minutes after installation to remove carbon fines.
Davey also specifies flushing for 20 seconds before using the water for drinking.
Maintenance & Replacement
Cartridge life depends partly on feed-water quality.
BPAC10
The BPAC10 has a stated 6-month hygienic lifespan and a treatment capacity of 75,000 litres.
SBPAC10
The SBPAC10's silver impregnation inhibits bacterial growth and gives it a stated 12-month hygienic lifespan, with a treatment capacity of 75,700 litres.
A sediment prefilter is recommended to reduce premature clogging and help protect the carbon media.
