The Spring Source SS-DA29-10105J is a compatible replacement for the LG and Samsung 5231JA2010B / DA29-10105J external fridge water filter. LG and Samsung don't make it. Check the code on your current filter first: it should read 5231JA2010B or DA29-10105J, or a matching code such as HAFEX-EXP or WSF-100.
It sits outside the fridge on the water line, with a removable tube, and changes without tools. Spring Source lists it as certified to NSF/ANSI 42 for chlorine, taste and odour and to NSF/ANSI 372 for its materials, with a WQA Gold Seal. It's BPA-free and rated for 30–120 psi (207–827 kPa) and a flow of 2.8 L/min (0.75 gpm).
