(Inc. GST)
Sediment filtration and UV disinfection bundle for tank and bore water. Clarity I removes coarse sediment down to 20 microns, then the Waimana 33W UV unit treats bacteria, viruses, and microbes at 30 mJ/cm². Flow-activated lamp, no chemicals added. Suits smaller homes with moderate sediment loads. Bore water should be tested before ordering. 3-year warranty on both items; ships as two separate parcels.

How the System Works Together
Stage 1, Coarse Sediment (Clarity I)
The 20 micron pleated filter removes larger particles, silt, and organic matter. Clear water at this stage is essential for effective UV treatment downstream.
Stage 2, UV Treatment (UV 33W)
Water flows through the UV chamber, where the 33W lamp treats it against bacteria, viruses, and microbes at a dose of 30 mJ/cm². The flow switch activates the lamp automatically when water moves and shuts it off when flow stops.
The sequence matters: sediment filtration before UV ensures clear water enters the chamber, which is what makes UV treatment effective.
If your water has a higher fine sediment or silt load, the Waiora Clarity II + UV 33W bundle adds a 1 micron polyspun second stage between the pleated filter and the UV unit for more thorough particle removal before treatment.
A Note on Bore Water
Bore water quality varies significantly from site to site. We recommend having your bore water tested before selecting a filtration system. The mineral content, bacterial load, and other characteristics of your bore will determine whether this configuration is appropriate or whether additional stages are needed.

Maintenance
- Clarity I cartridge: replace every 6 to 12 months. Replace when the filter is visibly loaded with debris or when the flow rate drops noticeably.
- UV lamp: replace based on usage. UV output degrades before the lamp visibly fails. Replace on schedule and clean the quartz sleeve at each lamp change.

FAQs
Why do I need both filtration and UV?
Filtration removes sediment and particles. UV treats water against bacteria, viruses, and microbes. They address different things; filtration alone does not treat microbiological contamination, and UV alone cannot work effectively if the water is turbid or contains sediment.
Why does the order matter?
UV treatment requires clear water. If sediment reaches the UV chamber, it blocks the UV light from reaching micro-organisms in the water, thereby reducing or eliminating treatment effectiveness. The Clarity I's sediment stage ensures clear water arrives at the UV chamber.
Is this suitable for bore water?
It can be, but bore water varies significantly from site to site. We recommend testing your bore water before ordering.
Do the two items need to be installed at the same time?
They can be installed together or separately. The Clarity I filter system is installed upstream, and the UV unit downstream. The UV unit should always be the last stage before water enters the home.
Do I need a plumber to install it?
We recommend a licensed plumber for both components. The Clarity I uses standard 25mm BSP fittings and arrives pre-assembled with a housing spanner. The UV unit uses 25mm BSP and plugs into a standard 240V outlet.
What warranty applies?
Both items carry a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. Filter cartridges and the UV lamp are consumables and are not covered.
Does the 20 micron pleated stage alone reliably protect the UV chamber?
It handles coarse sediment and larger particles well, which covers moderate sediment loads. It doesn't remove fine silt down to 1 micron the way a second stage would. If your water tests with a higher fine particle load, this single stage may not be enough to keep UVT consistently high, in which case the Clarity II bundle is the safer fit.
Does the 30 L/min flow cap on the UV unit limit running multiple taps at once?
The 33W unit is rated at 30 L/min at its 30 mJ/cm² dose. If several taps or appliances draw water simultaneously and exceed that flow, the water passing through at that moment may not receive the full intended dose. For homes with higher simultaneous demand, the 48W unit rated at 45 L/min is the better match.
Can I upgrade to the Clarity II second stage later without replacing the Clarity I housing?
The Clarity I is a single-stage 10" jumbo housing; adding a second filtration stage means installing an additional housing in line rather than modifying the existing one. The UV unit and its 25mm BSP connections are unaffected either way, so the UV side of the system carries over regardless of which filtration path you take.
Why doesn't the 3-year warranty cover the UV lamp or filter cartridge?
Both are consumable parts with a defined service life. The lamp degrades with usage hours, and the cartridge loads up with captured sediment over time. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the housing, chamber, and electronics, not parts that are expected to wear out and be replaced on schedule.
Does the Clarity I housing's 125 PSI rating limit how this bundle pairs with a pump?
125 PSI (8.5 bar) is the housing's maximum rating, well above the 85 PSI recommended operating pressure. Most residential pump setups run within this range, but if you're pairing this bundle with a higher-output pump, checking your pump's max output pressure against these figures is worth doing before installation.
