Spark a strong start in numeracy with this rainbow-bright set of numbered rods.

Inspired by Maria Montessori’s “concrete-to-abstract” approach, each pair of colour-graded wooden blocks shows both the numeral and the word, so tamariki see quantity, feel proportion, and quickly connect symbol to value. Children line rods end-to-end to discover that “4 + 6 = 10,” stack them into pyramids, or repurpose them as bridges and roads for imaginative STEM play.

Hand-crafted from sustainably harvested plantation timber and finished with non-toxic dyes, every rod is smooth, durable, and uniquely grained. The set comes in a sturdy wooden tray that doubles as a self-correcting work board and keeps shelves tidy. Suitable from 3 + years.
