Rope Best Sellers: More of the Ropes Kiwis Are Buying Right Now

Rope is one of those things you don't think about until you need it — and then you need the right one. We've gone through our actual orders from the last 90 days to see what Kiwis have been buying from our Rope | Cordage range. Last time we covered the big movers (manila, Pro-Manila, yacht braid and winch line). This time we're shining a light on the next wave of genuine best sellers — the ropes people keep coming back for.

A quick note before we start: much of our rope is cut to length and sold by the metre, so you only pay for what you actually need. Where a product comes on a coil or reel, we've said so.

1. Manila Rope 250m Coils — for the big jobs

Manila Rope 4mm to 48mm Dia x 250m Coils

When a project needs serious length, a full coil makes more sense than cutting metre by metre. Our Manila Rope Coils have been a steady seller with landscapers, builders, event and hospitality fit-outs, and anyone running rope barriers, handrails or decorative work across a whole site. Manila's natural look is the whole point — it suits gardens, decks, bars and waterfront settings. Coils start from $126.50 depending on diameter. See all sizes in Manila rope coils and cut lengths.

2. Sisal Rope by the Metre — natural fibre, great value

Sisal Rope by the Metre NZ 4mm to 14mm

Sisal Rope has been one of the busiest lines in the whole rope range, with hundreds of metres heading out the door. It's a natural fibre rope in 4mm to 14mm, and it gets bought for cat scratching posts, craft and décor, garden ties, and general-purpose tying where a natural look matters. Pricing starts at just $0.55 per metre, which is why people buy plenty of it. Need a full coil? Check out the sisal ropes collection.

3. Fineline Horse Lead Rope — soft on the hands

Horse owners, pony clubs and tack makers have kept our Fineline Horse Lead Rope moving. It's a soft polyester flat braid from Fineline, available in 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm and 20mm, so you can make up lead ropes, tie-downs and halters to your own length. It's also handy around the farm and the boat wherever you want a rope that's kind on bare hands. From $1.44 per metre. More in the HJ Series flat braid horse rope collection.

4. Advantage Dyneema Yacht Braid — for serious sailors

At the performance end of the range, Advantage Dyneema Yacht Braid is the pick for sailors re-rigging halyards, sheets and control lines. Dyneema line is known for being strong and low stretch, which is exactly what you want when you're trimming sails. It comes in a choice of fleck and solid colours so you can colour-code your lines, and it's cut by the metre from $9.00 per metre. Browse our high performance yachting ropes for more options.

5. Fineline CJ6 Polyester Fine Braid — the handy all-rounder
