BoreSaver Ultra C – Iron Oxide Cleaner and Iron Bacteria Treatment

BoreSaver Ultra C is a professional-grade iron oxide cleaner and iron bacteria treatment for bores, wells, water pumps, pipes, and screens. If your bore water output has dropped, your pump is working harder than it should, or you are seeing reddish-brown slime or staining in your water system, iron oxide build-up and iron bacteria are the most likely cause. BoreSaver Ultra C dissolves these deposits and controls the bacteria responsible, restoring flow and extending the working life of your pump and bore.

Unlike harsh industrial acids, BoreSaver Ultra C uses a blend of monohydrates and organic acids that are safe for potable water systems and will not damage metal or plastic components. It is NSF/ANSI Standard 60 certified for use in drinking water supplies and approved under Regulation 31. The solid crystal form is straightforward to dose and does not require the pump to be removed in most situations, keeping treatment costs well down.

Available in a 5kg box, suited to maintenance cleaning and moderate to severe iron build-up treatments.

Key Features

  • Dissolves iron oxide deposits in bore screens, gravel packs, and pipes

FAQs

How do I know if my bore has an iron bacteria problem?

Common signs are reduced water flow or pump output, reddish-brown or orange slime in the water or on fixtures, a metallic or earthy taste, and filter cartridges blocking faster than usual. Iron bacteria feed on iron in the water and form deposits that clog bore screens, gravel packs, and pump components over time.

Is BoreSaver Ultra C safe for drinking water bores?

Yes. BoreSaver Ultra C is NSF/ANSI Standard 60 certified and Regulation 31 approved for use in potable water supplies. It is biodegradable and will not leave harmful residuals or damage the components inside your bore or pump.

Do I need to remove the pump to treat the bore?

In most cases, no. BoreSaver Ultra C can be applied with the pump in place, which significantly reduces the cost and disruption of treatment. For severe cases or bores that have not been treated in many years, pulling the pump for a more thorough clean may give better results. Contact us if you are unsure, and we can advise on the right approach for your situation.

How often should I treat my bore to prevent iron buildup from returning?

This depends on how quickly iron levels rebuild in your water, but many bores benefit from a maintenance treatment every 12 to 24 months to stay ahead of buildup, rather than waiting until flow drops noticeably. Bores with consistently high iron content may need more frequent treatment.

What safety precautions should I take when handling BoreSaver Ultra C?

While it is safer than industrial acids, it is still a concentrated treatment. Wear gloves and eye protection when handling the crystals, avoid inhaling dust while dosing, and keep it away from children and pets during storage and application.
