Flounder Unslung Mesh — 0.12mm x 6Ply

Flounder fishing in New Zealand demands a net that's lightweight, strong, and purpose-built for the job. The new Flounder Unslung Mesh range from Action Fishing Nets delivers exactly that — precision-engineered with a 0.12mm x 6ply construction and a clean snow-white finish for low visibility underwater.

Every net in the flounder range is 30 mesh deep (MD) and uses unslung (knotted) construction for reliable strength. The mesh size options cover 4.75-inch, 5-inch, and 5.25-inch holes — giving you the flexibility to target flounder in different conditions and locations around New Zealand.

Key Features

  • 0.12mm x 6Ply construction — the ideal balance of finesse and strength for flatfish
  • 30 Mesh Deep — generous depth for effective coverage
  • Snow White finish — reduced visibility for better catch rates
  • Unslung (knotted) mesh — ready to hang with your own float and lead lines
  • Multiple lengths available — 60M, 80M, 120M, and 245M to suit any setup

The Full Flounder Range

We stock the flounder mesh in six configurations so you can pick the exact size and length for your fishing style:

5-Inch Flounder Mesh

4.75-Inch Flounder Mesh

  • 245M Length — $97.75 — Slightly smaller mesh hole for targeting smaller flounder or areas where a tighter mesh is preferred.

5.25-Inch Flounder Mesh

  • 245M Length — $103.50 — Larger mesh opening for bigger flounder and areas where bycatch reduction is a priority.

Pacific Island Unslung Mesh — 0.70mm Heavy Duty

The Pacific Island Unslung Mesh range is purpose-built for the demanding conditions found across the Pacific — coral reefs, rocky lagoons, and strong tidal currents that would shred lighter netting. At 0.70mm monofilament (60lb breaking strain), this is the toughest mesh in our range.

Manufactured right here in Auckland by Action Fishing Nets, this heavy-duty mesh is designed specifically for Pacific Island fishermen targeting reef species including milkfish (ava/bangus), trevally, and other medium to large reef fish. Every net is 240 metres long and comes in 3-inch, 3.5-inch, and 4-inch mesh sizes with varying depths.

Key Features

  • 0.70mm heavy-duty monofilament — 60lb breaking strain, built to survive coral and reef edges
  • 240 metres long — serious length for reef and lagoon fishing
  • 3", 3.5", and 4" mesh sizes — target different species and conditions
  • Unslung (knotted) mesh — you add your own float line and lead line to suit local conditions
  • Ships worldwide — Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Cook Islands, French Polynesia, Vanuatu, and more

Note: This mesh is not legal for use in New Zealand except for drag nets targeting mullet or herrings. This is mesh only — sold without floaters and sinkers.

The Full Pacific Island Range

3-Inch Mesh (76mm)

  • 33 Mesh Deep — $324.99 — Maximum depth (~2.2m hung height) for deep lagoon and reef edge fishing. Ideal for adult milkfish and trevally.
  • 20 Mesh Deep — $205.00 — Shallower profile for reef flats, lagoon channels, and inshore work.

3.5-Inch Mesh (89mm)

4-Inch Mesh (100mm)
