Trojan Trailer Parts Best Sellers: The Axles, Springs, Couplings and Bearings Kiwis Are Buying Now
Summer's on the way, and for a lot of Kiwis that means the trailer is about to work hard: boat launches, trips to the bach, and loads of green waste to the tip. Before the first big tow of the season, it pays to check what's underneath. Axles, springs, bearings and the coupling all take a beating from salt water and rough back roads. We went through our actual sales from the last 90 days to see which Trojan Trailer Parts people are buying right now.
This round leans towards running gear. These are the parts that keep a trailer rolling straight and hitched on securely.
1. Trojan Half-Beam Duratorque – Retro, 1500kg per pair

This is the biggest-ticket part on the list. Trojan's half-beam Duratorque units are fabricated and sold one side at a time. Each side is rated to 750kg, so a right and a left together give you 1500kg per pair. The right-hand unit sold the most this round, and the left-hand unit was close behind.
Who buys these? Trailer builders and owners doing a full rebuild of the running gear, where it's worth replacing the whole axle instead of patching up an old one.

2. Trojan Taper Leaf Slipper Spring – 1400kg Pair for Boat Trailers

This spring is made specifically for boat trailers. It's a single 45mm taper leaf with a Dacromet coating to resist salt-water corrosion, and it's sold as a pair rated to 1400kg. A top-mounted locating pin engages the axle location holes, which keeps everything lined up when you fit it. Overall length is 765mm, and it's 370mm from the eye to the centre bolt. Check those measurements against your old springs before you order.
The buyers are boaties whose springs have rusted out after years of dunking at the ramp.

3. Trojan Lever Coupling TC30 – 2000kg, 1 7/8" ball

Trojan describes this as New Zealand's most popular trailer coupling. Major trailer manufacturers fit it as original equipment. It's cast in steel, simple to operate, and suits a 1 7/8" ball, rated to 2000kg. The bolt holes take 10mm bolts, and it should be fitted with four high-tensile bolts.
It's an easy swap when an old coupling is worn, sloppy or seized. It's also a staple for new trailer builds.

4. Trojan Duo-Ball – 50mm and 1 7/8", 3500kg

Lots of households tow more than one trailer, and they don't always use the same ball size. The Duo-Ball gives you a 1 7/8" ball and a 50mm ball on a 1" shank, so you can change ball size in seconds. It has a chrome finish and a 3500kg capacity. It measures 76mm from where it sits on the drawbar to the top of the ball.
It suits anyone towing a mix of older and newer trailers.

5. Trojan 1500kg Early Model Hub Bearing and Seal Kit

Wheel bearings are the classic trailer failure, especially on boat trailers that get backed into the sea. This kit combines Trojan's bearing kit (TPT1184) and seal kit (TPT10131) in one pack, so you're not hunting down parts separately. It's built for early model hubs rated up to 1500kg. Note that it's sold each, not as a pair, so order one for each hub you're rebuilding.
It's a regular buy for DIY trailer owners doing their own pre-season service.

Doing a bigger rebuild? The Trojan galvanised straight beam axle, non-braked 1500kg ($299.00) has been selling well alongside the springs. For a coupling that suits both ball sizes without swapping the handle, take a look at the Duofit V2 2500kg coupling ($128.42). There are more options in straight beam axles.
