Davey Microlene MPQCUBS — Underbench Water Purifier for Mains Water
Better-tasting drinking water at your kitchen tap — without filtering the whole house.
The Davey Microlene MPQCUBS is a 2-stage underbench purifier designed specifically for mains (town) water. It treats the water at your kitchen tap for taste and odour, reduces heavy metals and other dissolved contaminants, and removes parasitic cysts down to 1 micron — all without a whole-house system.
This is a point-of-use system. It treats drinking water at one tap, not your entire home supply. If you want filtered water at every tap including showers and laundry, a whole-house system is the right choice. If you want cleaner drinking and cooking water from your kitchen tap — without paying to filter water that goes to the toilet, garden, or shower — this is it.
The kit includes the purifier, a dedicated drinking water faucet, and the installation kit with tubing. The purifier uses Quick Connect — when it's time to replace, the cartridge twists out and clicks back in with no tools required.
How It Works
Stage 1 — 10 Micron Filtration
Removes sediment including rust, grit, and algae if present in the supply.
Stage 2 — 1 Micron Premium Purifier Cartridge
The Premium purifier contains granulated activated carbon bonded with silver ion, plus KDF media. This combination reduces chlorine, asbestos, pesticides, sulphur, aluminium, lead, and other heavy metals that may be dissolved in mains water.
The system has been independently tested to remove 99.94% of Cryptosporidium cysts and complies with AS/NZS 4348:1995 Domestic Water Treatment Appliances.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the right system for my home?
If you're on mains water and want cleaner, better-tasting drinking water at your kitchen tap, yes. The MPQCUBS is a point-of-use system — it treats water at one tap, not your whole house. That means you're not paying to filter water that goes to the toilet, garden, or shower. If you want filtered water at every tap, get in touch and we'll recommend the right whole-house system for your supply.
Does it need to be installed by a plumber?
For anyone confident with this style of plumbing, the install is straightforward — the system arrives assembled and connects to your cold-water supply under the sink using the included tubing and fittings. The faucet will require a hole in the benchtop or sink. If you'd prefer to have it done, a plumber can fit it quickly. If you're not sure, get in touch and we'll help you decide.
How does the Quick Connect system work?
When the purifier reaches the end of its service life, the cartridge twists out and clicks in with no tools. No housing spanner, no mess.
How long does the purifier last?
3 years or 30,000 litres — whichever comes first. The sanitisation life of the Premium purifier is longer than the Standard version because the activated carbon is bonded with silver ion, which extends its effective life.
What does the purifier reduce?
The Premium purifier is designed to reduce chlorine, asbestos, pesticides, sulphur, aluminium, lead, and other heavy metals that may be dissolved in mains water. It has also been independently tested to remove 99.94% of Cryptosporidium cysts.
Can I use this with rainwater or bore water?
The MPQCUBS Premium purifier is formulated for mains water. For rainwater, the Standard purifier (MSUBS or MSQCUBS) is the recommended option. Get in touch and we'll help you choose the right configuration.
What's the difference between the Standard and Premium purifiers?
The Standard purifier uses granulated activated carbon and is recommended for rainwater. It lasts 2 years or 10,000 litres. The Premium purifier adds silver ion bonding and KDF media for additional heavy metal reduction — it's designed for mains water and lasts 3 years or 30,000 litres.
What warranty comes with it?
1 year.
