1. Trojan Duofit Override Hydraulic Coupling 3/4" – 2500kg

This is the big-ticket item on the list, and it's still one of the most popular. The Duofit override coupling is the business end of a braked trailer. It pushes on the hydraulic brakes when your tow vehicle slows down, so the trailer isn't shoving you down the hill. It suits both 50mm and 1-7/8" tow balls, is rated to 2500kg GVM, and Trojan builds it to the NZ tow coupling standard NZS5232:1993.

2. Trailer Safety Chain Kit – up to 2000kg

This is the most popular Trojan part on our list by units. The kit is a length of 8mm rated chain with an 11mm shackle, made for trailers up to 2000kg. A safety chain is your backup if the coupling ever lets go, and a rusty or stretched one is the kind of thing that gets picked up at a WOF.

It's cheap insurance, so people often add one when they're already ordering a coupling or new springs.

3. Security Lock for Cruisemaster DO35 & DO45 V1 Couplings

If you run an off-road caravan or camper with a Cruisemaster DO35 coupling, this is the lock made for it. A dummy pin goes through the coupling's universal joint and the keyed lock fits on the end, so nobody else can hitch up to your van while it's parked. You get the pin, two keys and a lock body with a dust cover.

Our buyers are off-grid caravanners who leave their van at a campsite or in storage. One thing to check: it fits all versions of the DO35 and the DO45 V1 only. It won't fit the DO45Plus.

4. Trojan Disc Braked Early Model Hub 225mm (5 x 4-1/2")

Plenty of older trailers are still on the road, and eventually their hubs need replacing. This 225mm disc-braked hub on the classic 5 x 4-1/2" stud pattern is made for exactly that job. It's a straight retrofit or replacement for early-model braked setups, so you don't need to re-engineer the whole axle.

Most buyers are keeping a well-used boat or car trailer going for a few more seasons, or doing a proper refurbishment.

5. Trojan 5 Leaf Deep Slipper Spring 50mm – 1720kg Pair

Saggy springs make a trailer tow badly and wear out tyres. This pair of five-leaf, 50mm-wide deep slipper springs is rated to 1720kg per pair. It's built for heavier loads like larger boat trailers, tradie trailers and loaded box trailers.

The springs are Dacromet coated, which resists corrosion better than plain paint or basic galvanising. That makes a big difference on trailers that get dunked at the ramp or parked near the coast.
