Platform Rise & Fall Bracket – 25hp (ASM, NZ Made)

The Platform Rise & Fall Bracket for 25hp outboards is a purpose-built mounting system engineered in New Zealand by ASM to deliver confident towing, secure motor mounting, and reliable on-water deployment. With a robust, maintenance-free pivot and a timber platform designed for superior grip, this bracket keeps your outboard firmly in place while offering smooth, controlled vertical movement for easy deployment and stowage on the water and on the road.

Why this bracket stands out

  • Reliable, maintenance-free pivot system: pressed stainless steel pivots paired with shake-proof fasteners prevent loosening or parts from coming loose under on-the-road vibrations.
  • Secure timber platform: varnished Pacific hardwood clamps sink slightly into the surface, dramatically reducing motor slip during transit—something plastic mounts can’t reliably achieve.
  • NZ-made durability: lifetime marine-grade stainless steel (3 mm) and meticulous fabrication designed for saltwater environments.
  • Versatile power and shaft compatibility: supports up to 25hp on standard shafts and up to 20hp on long (20–23") shafts, accommodating both 2- and 4-stroke engines with a maximum weight of 58 kg.

Platform and materials

The secure timber platform is crafted from varnished Pacific hardwood and sits on a solid 3 mm marine-grade stainless steel frame. The timber footprint measures 260 × 190 × 35 mm, providing stable grip and balance during towing and underway while resisting the harsh marine environment.

installation and practical use

Mount the bracket as close to the centreline as practicable, avoiding interference with the main motor, rudder, or steering gear. The port side is often preferred for weight distribution, with the helmsman’s weight offset toward the starboard. Use four 3/8" (10 mm) stainless bolts with large, thick washers, and consider reinforcing the underside of the platform with a backing plate or pads (marine plywood or aluminium) for a solid, long-lasting fit. Do not operate the bracket until the large springs are in place—removing them temporarily during installation can create a serious safety risk. Whether towing on the road or preparing for launch, this platform provides a slip-resistant base for your outboard and dependable performance in demanding marine conditions.

Who this is for

Ideal for boaters who need a rugged, reliable rise-and-fall mounting solution for 25hp outboards, especially those who tow between inland waters and coastal launches. It’s a fit for saltwater use, frequent deployment and stowage routines, and operators who value solid construction, long-term corrosion resistance, and precise control of motor positioning.

How this compares to alternatives

Compared with lighter or plastic-mount solutions, the ASM Platform Rise & Fall Bracket offers a heavier-duty, corrosion-resistant frame, a timber surface that minimizes motor slip, and a maintenance-free pivot system designed to endure road vibration and harsh marine environments. With a dedicated New Zealand build and clear mounting guidance, it provides a practical, long-term mounting solution that prioritizes safety, ease of use, and durable performance over time.

Practical tips and insights

  • For best weight distribution, position the port-side mounting point near the centreline and offset the helmsman’s weight toward the opposite side.
  • During installation, ensure the underside backing plate or pads are securely fixed to maximize stability and longevity.
  • Keep the platform clean and dry before deployment to preserve the timber’s grip and the stainless fittings’ longevity.
