When gamefishing, a full spool of mono wound on too tight can result in catastrophic failure of the reel spool.
To counteract this problem a Top-Shot of mono over 2/3 of a spool of dacron will prevent the crushing effect
of nylon after a long fight. The mono top shot will be cheaper to replace and will give you just enough stretch
to absorb any shock loading from heavy drag settings. In conclusion, Top-Shots are a good thing, they are
