Maxwell Maxset Boat Anchors – Proven Plough Design for Holding Power

Maxwell Maxset Boat Anchors – Proven Plough Design for Reliable Holding Power

Experience superior anchoring performance with Maxwell Maxset Boat Anchors, a trusted choice for boaters who demand strength, reliability, and precision. Built on the proven ‘Plough’ anchor design, the Maxset range combines galvanised steel and marine-grade stainless steel (AISI 316) construction to deliver exceptional holding power in a wide variety of seabeds and conditions.

Available in four different sizes, these anchors are designed to suit boats from 4 metres (15’) to 17 metres (55’), offering unmatched versatility for small vessels through to larger yachts and cruisers. The robust design ensures quick setting and secure holding, even in challenging environments, making the Maxwell Maxset anchor a dependable choice for serious boating enthusiasts.

Anchor Swivel Shackles

To complement the Maxset Anchors, Maxwell recommends using anchor swivel shackles to connect the anchor to the rode. This combination improves anchor retrieval and ensures your rode lays neatly into the anchor locker—especially when used with Maxwell’s automatic rope/chain windlasses.

Two swivel sizes are available—6–8mm (1/4”–5/16”) and 10–13mm (3/8”–1/2”)—to suit vessels up to 20 metres (65 feet). These single swivel connectors feature captured pins that won’t loosen under load and pull smoothly over bow rollers, ensuring a safe and efficient anchoring process. (Note: Connecting the swivel directly to the anchor is not recommended.)
