How to Choose the Right Strop

1. Know your vehicle weight — choose a strop rated well above your Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM). A 2× safety margin is standard.
2. Recovery vs Towing? For stuck vehicles, choose a kinetic/nylon strop that stretches. For flat towing, choose a polyester/endless sling with minimal stretch.
3. Check the length — 6m strops suit tight spaces, 9–10m strops give safer distance between vehicles.
4. Eye protection — look for reinforced loop eyes with protective sleeves to prevent abrasion damage.
