When a trailer needs dependable stopping power and weather-ready durability, the Drop Beam Axle - Disc Braked - 2000kg - Galvanised delivers. Built to order by Trojan, this disc-braked drop beam axle is engineered for leaf-spring suspension systems, combining robust load capacity with corrosion resistance for long life on the road or worksite.

Why this disc-braked drop beam axle stands out

  • Disc braking for modern stopping power: reliable braking performance under load with easier maintenance compared to drum systems.
  • 2000 kg capacity: ideal for mid-weight trailers, caravans, and utility builds where strength and stability are essential.
  • Galvanised finish: exceptional corrosion resistance, making it suitable for exposed environments and road-salt exposure.
  • Drop beam design: lowers the ride height to improve stability, reduce body roll, and enhance towing dynamics.
  • Leaf-spring compatible: designed for standard leaf-spring suspensions; available in straight beam, drop beam, and Gull Wing variants, with braked and non-braked options, galvanised or bare metal finishes.

Made to order — tailored to your exact specs

This axle is manufactured to firm order, with a lead time of at least six weeks. When you order, you’ll need to complete the axle order sheet to specify your geometry. Trojan offers a range of configurations and beam sizes—40 mm, 50 mm, or 65 mm square hollow box sections—so you can match stiffness, clearance, and mounting positions to your trailer design. If you need hubs fitted to your new axle, you can arrange this as part of the order (see related products).

Precise geometry matters

Measurements you’ll specify include:

  • C — face-to-face distance from the outside face of one hub to the opposite hub.
  • D — center-to-center distance between the springs’ mounting position.
  • B (drop beam only) — the height of the drop (60 mm or 90 mm).
  • E (Gull Wing only) — depth of the bend (60 mm, 90 mm or 120 mm).

For Gull Wing axles, C & D are required plus E. For Drop Beam axles, C & D are required plus B. If hubs are required, specify this during the ordering process.

Ideal use cases

  • Caravans and motor caravans that benefit from a lower centre of gravity for improved handling on twisty roads.
  • Utility and light commercial trailers needing reliable braking and long-term protection against the elements.
  • Horse or livestock trailers operating in variable weather, where galvanised protection extends service life.
  • New builds and retrofits requiring precise alignment with existing leaf-spring setups.

Choosing the right beam axle means aligning capacity, geometry, and braking type with your trailer’s design. The Drop Beam Axle - Disc Braked - 2000kg - Galvanised provides a robust, low-maintenance solution with modern braking, a corrosion-resistant finish, and the exact measurements you specify—delivered as a tailored, made-to-order component you can rely on mile after mile.
