Understanding Mullet Nets for New Zealand
- For North Island, North of New Plymouth and East Cape, the Minimum mesh size for drag nets is 85mm. And 90mm for set nets
- For South of New Plymouth and East Cape, the Minimum mesh size for Drag or set is 100mm.
It is up to the buyer to make sure the net they choose is suitable for their intended purpose and they use it in such a way that they follow the MPI rules for the area they fish in.
As it is impossible to cover all variations in advertising or counter sales.
(Bit like selling a car with reg and warrant, Buyers still need to follow the road rules)

Are made for Mullet / Kahawai in 90mm 100mm 108mm Clear 0.50mm Mono.
90mm comes in 25md 30md 36md & 40md and 20m, 30m, 40m 60m long.
100mm comes in 25md & 36md and 30m, 40m 60m.
108mm comes in 25md, 30m, 40m 60m long.
These Mono nets are the most versatile for customers and fish in the best range of conditions and are easiest to repair with a 0.50mm mono fishing line. More Info

Multi-mono comes in 30m 40m & 60m Long 30md or 36md. And is best for a Change of light Fishing at dawn, dusk, or overnight. More Info
Floating Nets come in 40m or 60m long 25md 30md, 36md or 40md, made for fast river and harbour fishing where you do not want the net to touch the bottom to avoid weeds and logs. More Info
