Nav and Fishing Sounders

FISHFINDERS

You have arrived at your favourite spot, now it's time to make sure the fish are below your boat. Fishfinders (or Sounders) are designed to let you see what is in the water column below your boat. Usually the Fishfinder will be made up of two pieces, a display/processor and a transducer.

The Transducer sends the signal to the bottom of the sea and "hears" the return echo. These can be mounted on the transom (runabouts or launches with sterndrives) or "thru-hull" in larger launches and yachts.

The Display interprets the signals received and produces an image for you to see on the screen. Displays can be black and white or colour and range in size from 3 to 12 inches.
